I get the 3 per month. And they work at my ArcLight and reserved seating.

How does the reserved seating work? Does it work with all the theaters?

I would almost be interested in this as a supplement to MP for 3D and IMAX movies but I really don't like that you have to pay the entire year up front.

It works with all of my theaters - reserved or not. the only theaters it does not work with are the fancier IPIC Theaters.

Looks like IMAX is limited to once a month. Can anyone with one of the higher plans confirm that, or if you can see two (or three) 3D films per month? Website is wonky on safari, can’t even confirm which theaters near me participate.

I have heard this regularly (IMAX is only once per month) but I couldn’t find it when I looked at their TOS. I didn’t look real hard though.

Cue the guys from the MP thread telling you that you are wrong because it never happened to them ...

I posted about them in the Movie Pass thread, they lie about it being "unrestricted".

27.16.With Sinemia Classic your tickets can be used for 2D movies and with Sinemia Elite, your tickets can be used for a 2D or 3D movie and one of your tickets can be used for either of the following technologies of your choice once every 30 days : IMAX 2D, IMAX 3D, XD, Dolby Atmos, ScreenX, Dbox, or 4DX.

And like I said before, it's not once per month, it's a rolling 30 days for the "premium" ticket so you're likely to get screwed at least one month.

I meant the online ticketing. Does that work with all the theaters and if so how do you reserve your seat?

Yeah that limit on the IMAX and special screenings is messed up and really deceptive. They seem even worse than MP.

Weird that they even mention ScreenX benefits. There are exactly three theaters outside of Asia with that tech. One of them is here in Vegas. It's not a big deal really.

Just posted over in the MP thread — yes, because buying a ticket for myself within MP’s terms and not reselling it, exchanging it, or sneaking into another auditorium is a scam. Now I’ve moved on to using MP to buy hookers, blow, and new sports cars for all my friends.

You realize that you just described yourself to a tee, right? That is exactly what you did over in the moviepass thread. And you were called out for it, then you cried and said you were done with the conversation, left and then made childish comments in an unrelated thread.

Buying a ticket with the intentions of not going to that film because you want to give a "FUCK YOU" to Movie pass, which you admittedly did, is scamming Moviepass, yes. Buying a ticket for a movie other than the one you go to see is scamming Moviepass, yes. What really is so hard for you to understand about that? Talk about living in an altered reality.

I got a ticket through Sinemia for IW tonight and since my ArcLight does not accept Sinemia directly through their system I had to get the tickets via Fandango -- it looks like Sinemia is no longer covering the "processing fee" that Fandango adds per ticket. You'll be on the hook for $1.50 per ticket through Fandango. Sinemia will only cover the ticket price itself. FYI -- It wasn't always like this -- Sinemia used to cover the whole thing.

Darn, that was looking attractive, if they covered that fee. There've been a few times I did want to buy the ticket ahead of time. That said, there have only been a couple of times when I have not seen the movie I wanted to because of that. More often the issue is reserved seating, and by the time I decide to see the movie, all that's left are crappy seats, which Sinemia wouldn't help with.
Their faq does say "Advance ticket convenience fee is not covered by Sinemia."

Is '30 days' in Sinemia's definition always 30 days, ie, not a calendar month?
The pop up for a plan description says
"You can see 2 movies in a month (30 days) on 2 separate days".
So if you watch on the 16th and the 30th, you have to wait till the 16th and the 30th to watch a movie during the next month?

That is some serious fine print on the 3d/special formats. Although the plan description page does currently say "and AN experience in IMAX/4DX" so that's reasonably upfront.

I'm tempted by the couples plan but I don't know if I see enough movies, by myself or with my wife/son, to be worth two plans (and the hassle of two plans).

That said, I'm all for competition, and as long as you read the fine print and know what your entitlements are, this seems like a reasonably good offer (depending on that '30 day' thing.)

It's not a big deal. Considering they want you to use Fandango to buy the ticket for an ArcLight screening -- they're actually paying more for it. $1.50 is nothing. It would be cheaper if they would pay for it using ArcLight's website directly but I guess they don't have an agreement in place yet.

Ok, now for the really controversial and pressing question ... how do you pronounce Sinemia?

sih-NEH-mee-uh / sih-NUH-mee-uh

Yeah I would think it's supposed to sound like "cinema" so that first one is out, at least. Unless people pronounce that "sin-NEE-muh" in which case, they're wrong.

Makes sense that it would be pronounced like cinema but I don't know why they named it sinema. It sounds like a seedy 70's porn theater.

I had the same thought. What makes it odd, though, is the “i” in the last syllable. That’s what makes everyone unsure of how to pronounce it.
